The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) operates the U.S. Department of Education's technical assistance and information center for the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program. NCHE is based at The SERVE Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). NCHE hosts this Homeless Education Mailing List to share information and resources with educators, service providers, and other interested stakeholders about meeting the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. Over the holidays, two new resources became available at ed.gov.  As you continue your work in support of homeless children and youth this year, we wanted to make you aware of these resources and encourage you to visit the following links:

Early Childhood Homelessness State Profiles 2018 - This 2018 report updates the annual Early Childhood Homelessness State Profiles and provides a snapshot of early childhood data available for children who are experiencing homelessness in each state, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. 

I Want to Go to College: Now What? - A college planning guide for youths who are or were homeless, or are at risk of experiencing homelessness.  This new guide was developed to assist youths in identifying resources, including federal laws and programs, that will help in getting to, paying for, and finding success in college.

We hope you will join us in sharing these resources widely and please know that all of us at NCHE wish you the very best in 2019!
